Global Ecotourism Network

The Global Ecotourism Network (GEN) is a new organization whose founding members are the entire ex-Advisory Committee of The International Ecotourism Society (TIES).

GEN's mission is to bring together the world’s national and regional ecotourism associations and networks, destinations, indigenous peoples, global operators, professionals and academicians to grow the industry, provide advocacy and thought leadership, and to encourage innovation and authenticity in ecotourism.

GEN acts as a vital resource for evaluating ecotourism practices and disseminating authentic ecotourism trends, applied research and experience driven studies.

GEN brings together the world’s national and regional ecotourism associations and networks, destinations, indigenous peoples, global operators, professionals and academicians to grow the industry, provide advocacy and thought leadership, and to encourage innovation and authenticity in ecotourism.

Asian Ecotourism Network

The Asian Ecotourism Network (AEN), provides hands-on connections and relevant opportunities for members working together at a regional scale. AEN provides networking and business opportunities, significant information, educational materials and networking prospects to both small and large organisations within Asia.

AEN is a regional initiative of Global Ecotourism Network (GEN) and in line with GEN's mission.

Mission: Connect AEN stakeholders for knowledge transfer, consulting, marketing, and business development to achieve sustainability.

*Stakeholders: communities, private and public sectors, tourism and hospitality sectors, NGOs, and academia

Ecotourism Australia

Ecotourism Australia (EA) is a not for profit organisation focused on inspiring environmentally sustainable and culturally responsible tourism. We design and deliver certification programs for tourism products, representing more than 500 environmentally responsible ecotourism operators and 1,500 products across Australia. Learn more about our certification programs.

We represent the interests of ecotourism operators through membership on advisory boards, reference groups and other industry bodies where we work closely with diverse industry stakeholders to implement sustainable tourism practices.

  • Local and regional tourism associations
  • Tourism, environmental, interpretation and training consultants
